Saanich Peninsula Alert

North Saanich, Sidney, and Central Saanich municipalities have joined together to provide public safety alerts to the residents and visitors of the Saanich Peninsula. This system is called Saanich Peninsula Alert and is designed to deliver critical and potentially life-saving alerts to anyone who has registered. Alerts would be sent for events such as earthquakes, tsunami alerts, evacuation notices, or other safety threats. There is no sign up fee for Saanich Peninsula Alert.

To receive alerts, please register with Saanich Peninsula Alert. Your participation in this system is voluntary and all information you provide is protected and confidential.

NOTE: Any alerts sent over Alert Ready (Wireless Public Alerting System) takes precedence over any notifications sent via Saanich Peninsula Alert.  Please check our website, centralsaanich.ca for local information.

How does the system work?

Calls are delivered to your landline, cell phone, email or text.

​Contact information is completely confidential and stored in a Canadian database.

​Signing up is free however, you may be charged by your cell phone provider for incoming calls, text messages (premium), and/or data. Please contact your cell phone service provider to inquire about the cost.

Alert Ready notification system is not connected with Saanich Peninsula Alert.

Alert Ready is designed to deliver critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians via Canadian radio and TV, cable and satellite operators to compatible wireless devices connected to LTE networks.

The Alert Ready system is developed in partnership with federal, provincial and territorial emergency management officials, Environment and Climate Change Canada, The Weather Network and the broadcasting industry and wireless service providers, to ensure you receive alerts immediately and know when to take action to keep yourself and your family safe.
